The European experience:

• About 20 - 25% of municipal solid waste generated in the EU is disposed of by incineration (total MSW amount is about 200 million tons per year);
• The total number of WtE enterprises in Europe is more than 400;
• The average annual amount of waste disposed of by burning is up to 550 kg per capita;
• In Europe, the average capacity of companies for thermal waste disposal is more than 200 000 tons per year (the least powerful is 60 000 tons / year, the most powerful is 500 000 tons / year);
