International Environmental Forum “THE ECOLOGY OF INDUSTRIAL REGION"

On 23-24 of June, 2011 the company EcoEnergy Scandinavia took part in the International Environmental Forum “ECOLOGY OF INDUSTRIAL REGION”, within the scope of which also took place the International Conference “ECOLOGY OF INDUSTRIAL REGION” and International Specialized Exhibition “ECOLOGY-2011”.

The exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Donetsk Regional Council, Donetsk Regional State Administration, State Department of Environment Protection in the Donetsk region and JSC “Specialized exhibition center”. The event was attended by the industry experts, officials, representatives of non-governmental and scientific organizations and foreign investors.

Mats Lundin, the Project Manager of EcoEnergy Scandinavia presented the report about “Waste-to-Energy facilities in European countries”. In the report there were presented the figures on the number of Waste-to-Energy facilities in different countries of Europe and the volume of processed solid municipal waste per year. He emphasized the advantages of the technology used on facilities under consideration, and the fact that the production of energy from waste is widely used way of solid municipal waste disposal.

The representatives of the company tried to pay attention to all the visitors who passed by the sector belonging to EcoEnergy Scandinavia, where was shown short video made by Donetsk journalists who visited several facilities in Sweden that will be used as an example for Waste-to-Energy facility in Donetsk city.

Donetsk journalists were invited to Sweden to visit these facilities where they filmed them and interviewed the representatives of the EcoEnergy Scandinavia Company, workers and people living close to the facilities under consideration. The workers and residents living nearby agreed that such facilities solve the problem of MSW and do not harm the ecology.

Among the visitors of the exhibition there were a lot of Proletarskij district residents where the Waste-to-energy facility is planned to be constructed. Not only residents of Proletarskij district showed their vivid interest and positive attitude to the offered technology but also environmental, governmental organizations and education establishments.
